TERMS & CONDITIONS

The following policies exist to ensure that Southside Dance Academy is a safe environment where the safety and welfare of our dancers are paramount. We take your privacy seriously. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information.

 

Our terms and conditions outline the agreement between Southside Dance Academy and our customers. By using our website and/or registering for classes, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time and will update the effective date accordingly. Our terms and conditions cover the following topics; general, payment, clothing and classes. Please note that the information provided in our terms and conditions is for general information purposes only. Note adult dancer refers to an individual who is 16+. Otherwise a parent/guardian must be held responsible for a dancer under 16 years old.

Please read the following terms and conditions carefully:

1. ENROLMENT & CLASS PARTICIPATION

1.1 All child dancers must be correctly registered via our google registration form by a parent/guardian and prepaid for their first class prior to attending classes.

1.2 All adult dancers must be correctly registered via paper registration form available at the front desk.

1.3 Participation is subject to availability and class capacity.

1.4 Southside Dance Academy reserves the right to refuse or withdraw enrolment if necessary.

2. PAYMENTS

2.1 Class fees must be paid at the start of each month for child dancers by the date specified by Southside Dance Academy.

2.2 Class fees must be paid weekly for adult dancers.

2.3 Fees will be reviewed every quarter. Southside Dance Academy reserves the right to increase or decrease fees every quarter.

2.4 Any additional fees such as costume fees/comp fees/tickets must be paid by the deadline specified by Southside Dance Academy. Participation in comps/shows are only confirmed once payment has been received.

2.5 We are only able to accept cash and/or bank transfer (unless stated otherwise). Please bring exact change where possible.

​2.6 If fees are not paid, Southside Dance Academy reserves the right to prohibit dancer's participation in shows, comps and additional performances.

2.7 Fees are non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of Southside Dance Academy.

2.8 Missed classes are non-refundable and non-transferable

3. ATTENDANCE & PUNCTIONALITY

3.1 Dancers are expected to arrive on time for classes.

3.2 Parents/guardians must ensure dancers are collected promptly at the end of class.

3.3 Consistent lateness or non-attendance may affect participation in performances or progression opportunities.

3.4 Full attendance is required for our child classes with the exception of illness, holidays and family events eg wedding or special circumstances arranged prior to registration. Multiple unauthorised absences will result in your child being removed from the school.

4. BEHAVIOUR & CONDUCT

4.1 Respectful behaviour is expected at all times from dancers, parents and guardians.

4.2 Any form of disruptive, unsafe or disrespectful behaviour may result in removal from classes or activities.

4.3 Southside Dance Academy promotes a positive, supportive and inclusive environment for all dancers.

5. HEALTH & SAFETY

5.1 Parents/guardians must inform us of any medical conditions, injuries and allergies upon registration. Southside Dance Academy should be notified immediately if any new medical condition, injuries or allergies arise there is any updates to the information given at registration. 

5.2 Dancers should not attend class if they are unwell or have a contagious illness.

5.3 All reasonable care is taken to ensure a safe environment, however participation is at your own risk.

6. LIABILITY

​6.1 Southside Dance Academy is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings.

6.2 While all care is taken, we cannot accept responsibility for injuries sustained during class, rehearsals, performances or any other Southside Dance Academy event.

7. PHOTOGRAPHY & MEDIA

7.1 Photos and videos may be taken during classes, rehearsals, performances and any other Southside Dance Academy events for use on social media, website and promotional materials. We may also work in collaboration with outside media companies in line with our data protection policy

7.2 If you do not wish your child to be included in media, please inform upon registration via the registration form.

8. UNIFORM & DRESS CODE

3.1 Dancers must be in suitable clothing for taking part in dance classes. T-shirt, leggings/shorts/joggers and trainers are recommended prior to the uniform being available.

3.2 Once available, all child dancers must wear Southside Dance Academy's uniform at classes. Uniform requirements vary by age group.

3.3 To ensure the safety of dancers and others, no jewellery should be worn to class.

3.4 Where possible, hair should be tied back in a ponytail out of the dancer's face.

3.5 Dancers participating in showcases must pay the costume fee by the deadline.

9. MISCELLANEOUS

9.1 Southside Dance Academy strives to provide a safe, fun, creative and inclusive environment.

9.2 From time to time, it may be necessary that physical contact is to take place between the teacher and dancers. We encourage safe practice at all times and will support dancers where required. 

9.3 Southside Dance Academy distributes information such as changes, updates, events, important information via email and social media. It is the contact holder's responsibility to check junk folders and keep up to date.

9.4 Southside Dance Academy reserves the right to make changes to the advertised classes.

9.5 Southside Dance Academy reserves the right to move a child up or down an age group subject to ability.

9.6 Snacks (unless for medical reasons or advised to by Southside Dance Academy for long rehearsals) and chewing gum are not allowed in the dance hall. Dancers are recommended to bring water to each class. 

9.7 Southside Dance Academy do not take responsibility or accept liability for any injury to dancers and loss or damage to any belongings. We recommended that valuables are not brought to class. 

9.8 If you no longer wish to continue with Southside Dance Academy, you must contact southsidedanceacademy@gmail.com to withdraw the dancer's place. 

9.9 Mobiles are not to be used by dancers within classes unless permission is given by the teacher. 

9.10 Any classes that fall under 4 dancers are subject to being cancelled.

9.11 Southside Dance Academy do not accept any responsibility for any website not under our control, which may act as a portal to our site or be connected by a link with our site.

9.12 Southside Dance Academy is an independent body. Advertising on this site does not imply an endorsement of the advertiser’s products or services by Southside Dance Academy. 

9.13 These Terms and Conditions are subject to change at any time without prior notice to you. We recommend that you print and keep a copy of these Terms and Conditions.
