
TERMS & CONDITIONS
The following policies exist to ensure that Southside Dance Academy is a safe environment where the safety and welfare of our dancers are paramount. We take your privacy seriously. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information.
Our terms and conditions outline the agreement between Southside Dance Academy and our customers. By using our website and/or registering for classes, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time and will update the effective date accordingly. Our terms and conditions cover the following topics; general, payment, clothing and classes. Please note that the information provided in our terms and conditions is for general information purposes only. Note adult dancer refers to an individual who is at least 18 years old. Otherwise a parent/guardian must be held responsible for a dancer under 18 years old.
Please read the following terms and conditions (updated 07/04/24) carefully:
1. GENERAL
1.1 Parents/guardian of the child or adult dancers will be required to register online via the Google Form prior to attending classes. It is the responsibility of the adult dancer or parents/guardian of the child to immediately update any changes to this information by notifying a member of staff at Southside Dance Academy.
1.2 Parents/guardian or adult dancers to sign all waivers before dancer can participate in Southside Dance Academy classes/events.
1.3 Any health conditions and/or injuries must be disclosed on the online registration form. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian or adult dancer to immediately update any changes to this information by notifying a member of staff at Southside Dance Academy.
1.4 Southside Dance Academy distributes information such as changes, updates, events, important information via email and social media. It is the contact holder's responsibility to check junk folders and keep up to date.
1.5 Southside Dance Academy reserves the right to make changes to the advertised classes.
1.6 Southside Dance Academy reserves the right to move a child up or down an age group subject to ability.
1.7 Snacks (unless for medical reasons) and chewing gum are not allowed in the dance hall. Dancers are recommended to bring water to each class.
1.8 Southside Dance Academy do not take responsibility or accept liability for any injury to dancers and loss or damage to any belongings. We recommended that valuables are not brought to class.
1.9 If you no longer wish to continue with Southside Dance Academy, you must contact southsidedanceacademy@gmail.com to withdraw the dancer's place.
1.10 Promotional images and videos will be taken throughout classes, showcase and other Southside Dance Academy events for the purpose of promoting Southside Dance Academy. We may also work in collaboration with outside media companies in line with our data protection policy. Consent is to be given upon registration.
1.11 Mobiles are not to be used by dancers within classes unless permission is given by the teacher.
1.12 Any classes that fall under 4 dancers are subject to being cancelled.
1.13 Southside Dance Academy do not accept any responsibility for any website not under our control, which may act as a portal to our site or be connected by a link with our site.
1.14 Southside Dance Academy is an independent body. Advertising on this site does not imply an endorsement of the advertiser’s products or services by Southside Dance Academy.
1.15 These Terms and Conditions are subject to change at any time without prior notice to you. We recommend that you print and keep a copy of these Terms and Conditions.
2. PAYMENTS
2.1 Fees must be paid weekly.
2.2 Fees will be reviewed every quarter. Southside Dance Academy reserves the right to increase or decrease fees every quarter.
2.3 Any additional costs such as costume fees must be paid by the deadline.
2.4 We are only able to accept cash (unless stated otherwise). Please bring exact change where possible.
3. CLOTHING
3.1 Dancers must be in suitable clothing for taking part in dance classes. Legging/joggers, t-shirt/leotard and trainers are recommended prior to the uniform being available.
3.2 Once available, all child dancers must wear Southside Dance Academy's uniform at classes.
3.3 Once available, uniforms will be available to order from our socials and in person.
3.4 To ensure the safety of dancers and others, no jewellery should be worn to class.
3.5 Where applicable, hair should be tied back in a ponytail out of the dancer's face.
3.6 Dancers participating in showcases must pay the costume fee by the deadline.
4. CLASSES
4.1 Southside Dance Academy strives to provide a safe, fun, creative and inclusive environment.
4.2 In the event of disruptive behaviour, dancers will have a verbal warning. if this continues, dancers will be asked to leave the Academy.
4.3 Southside Dance Academy cannot be held responsible for any injuries sustained in classes.
4.4 Parents/guardians must bring their child at least 5 minutes before there scheduled class to sign in each week. Parents/guardians are welcome to wait outside in the waiting area but not inside the dance studio.
4.5 Parents/guardians must arrive promptly to pick their child up. You must pick up your child from the waiting room as they will not be permitted to leave the building on their own.
4.6 From time to time, it may be necessary that physical contact is to take place between the teacher and dancers. We encourage safe practice at all times and will support dancers where required.
